It is always advisable to see adult dogs before visiting a breeder with puppies available, all puppies appear adorable. Discuss the breed with owners who do not breed as well as those who do, to gain more information. As the breed is still fairly rare the best place to see several is at a club event or show. |

All reputable breeders are concerned that hereditary problems are prevented, The Polish Lowland Breed Clubs strict code of ethics, insists on all PLS being Hip X-rayed and eye tested, under the KC/BVA schemes, prior to breeding, always ask to see the relevant certificates.
It is quite usual for puppies to have a KC endorsement placed on their registrations preventing breeding or export at a later date. This should be discussed with the breeder prior to buying your puppy.
To date there are over 1000 PLS registered with the Kennel Club in the UK. This does not mean that the breed is not popular here, but responsible breeders do not want a population explosion which other rare breeds have experienced. They have restricted breeding by using the KC endorsements available to protect the breed's sound future.
